Barbara Marie Pickett of Steelville, Missouri passed away Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at her home at the age of seventy-two years. She was born October 21, 1939 in Granite City, IL to David McFarland and Josephine Roberts McFarland. On November 20, 1954 in Granite City, IL, she was united in marriage to James Donald Pickett who survives of the home.
Barbara grew up in Granite City and raised her family there with her husband and in 1998, they moved to Steelville. She was a member of the St. Michael’s Catholic Church and the Steelville Country Club.
She will be sadly missed by her husband of fifty-seven years, James Pickett of Steelville, MO; two daughtrers Barbara Valencia of Steelville, MO and Diana Callender of Cuba, MO; one brother David McFarland of Maryville, MO; four grandchildren Melanie Valencia, Dana M. O’Brien, Christie L. Callender and Jennifer L. Hinojosa; five great-grandchildren Dylan and Hayley O”Brien, Tyler and Kaylee Whitworth and Houston Hinojosa; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
