Surrounded by her family Barbara E. Birmingham passed away on March 15, 2014 after a short illness. She will be sadly missed by all.
She was born on December 29, 1933 and adopted by Martin H. and Ellen Quinn Cavanagh of Portland, Maine
.
She was a graduate of Deering High School class of 1954, where she enjoyed being a majorette. In 1955 she married Vincent Montefusco, who predeceased her in 1966. In 1969 she married Wayne H. Birmingham, of Patten, who predeceased her in 2002. While living in Patten she spent most of her years as a mom and wife, later enjoying a position as an Ed Tech at the Patten Primary Schools for 10 years. She lived in Patten through 2002, at which time she returned to Portland to be with her loved ones.
She is survived by sons Joseph Montefusco and wife Amy of Portland, Marty Birmingham and wife Jessica of Saco, daughters Ellen Kelly and husband Michael of Saco, Angela Nealey and husband Gary of Gorham and Sonya Pearson and husband Dan of Rumford, 9 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her son Wayne H. Birmingham Jr. and her grandson Gary (2E) Nealey.
