Age 96, passed away on Monday, December 12, 2005 at her home under the loving care of her family and dedicated caregivers. She was born on December 2, 1909 on the Blackmer Homestead near Pewamo, MI the daughter of Ora and Edith (Stanley) Blackmer. Mrs. Kramer attended a one room school house and graduated from Pewamo High School in 1928. Hy graduated from Ionia County Normal in 1929 and taught in a one room school house for 4 years. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, and the St. Joseph’s Altar Society. She enjoyed attending basketball games, playing bingo, eating out, listening to and playing music. Preceding her in death were her husband of 60 years, Clement Kramer on November 3, 1989; grandson, James Kramer, age 18, on August 16, 1975. Hy was the last of her generation, being preceded in death by her brothers Stanley and William Blackmer and sisters Catherine Cook and Phyllis Allen. Surviving are her loving family, Ray (Terrie) Kramer and Mike (Kathy) Kramer, both of Pewamo, Sister Jean Kramer O.P. of Grand Rapids, Dick Kramer of St. Johns and Linda Kramer of East Lansing; 11 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren.
