Arthur Thomas Moore III

It is with great sadness that we announce the loss of our beloved Arthur Thomas Moore III (“Art” or “T”), 54 of Brunswick, Maine. He left this earth February 6, 2023 at 2:40pm in Brunswick Maine, surrounded by an abundance of love from friends and family.

Art was born to Arthur Thomas Moore II and Margaret Moore on November 21, 1968 in Bath Maine. He developed a love for the outdoors from his father as a young child. His father took him and his brother to explore the mud flats in first grade. He attended Morse High School before pursuing the family trade of clam digging. He was a respected tradesman who worked as a clam digger mostly digging at his favorite spot, Fox Cove, at Thomas Point Beach. He also worked as a welder for 17 years at Coastal Metal Fab in Topsham and a few a years at Washburn and Doughty in Boothbay Harbor, but his true passion remained sinking his hands in the earthy mud and collecting as many clams and quahogs he could possibly get before the tide came in.
He spent many early mornings and late nights year round working in harshest of Maine weather but always with a smile on his face and a joke to share. Art started clamming with his father and brother Jeffrey Moore in earlier years and made many lifelong friends on and off the mud flats.

Everyone who knew T knew him in a different light. He was a son, brother, husband, father, uncle, cousin, grandpa, coworker, friend, and guy you call when you needed help gutting a deer. You couldn’t mention his name without people saying “Oh I know Art!” He really was an ally to all and helped out many who were down on their luck. He judged no one. He will always be known for his smart- alec remarks and dry quick wit, and his hearty laugh. He never left a friend without a nickname. He enjoyed good food, loud music, his Chevy truck, animals, and causing mischievous fun.
Art’s greatest joy in life was his two daughters, whom he loved with all his heart, from his first marriage with Dianna Rugar (Moore). His pride for his girls will always be carried with them. He loved watching his grandson, Mason, grow and play and was looking forward to meeting his newest grand daughter.  Arthur was dedicated, supportive, and selfless. To say he was a good man
would be an understatement. He was always fair and honest with everyone he met, a hard worker who instilled his values in his friends and family. He valued the needs of others with genuinity and compassion. Arthur Moore was strong and courageous, even in the face of adversity. He never gave up no matter how tough things got. His optimism was and will always be an inspiration to us all. He persevered with his typical will and determination through several serious health challenges in the past months and nothing stopped him until the last few weeks. The family would like to express its gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and staff at Maine Oncology of Brunswick, ME and Midcoast Hospital Brunswick, ME. The kindness and compassion of the people at each of these places were apparent to Arthur and his family and much appreciated.
Arthur held onto the ones he loved until the very end. Everyone’s lives are brighter having known him and we will all certainly miss his stories, sense of humor, smile, and most of all his good morning posts.

He is survived by his parents, Arthur Thomas Moore II and Margaret Moore of Phippsburg, ME; Wife, Lisa Jones of Brunswick, ME; Daughter, Stephanie Small and husband Nicholas Small of Edgecomb, ME; Daughter, Rebecca Moore of Brunswick, ME; Brother, Jeffrey Moore and Angela Bryant of West Bath, ME; Brother, Arthur Moore and wife Lynn Moore of Woolwich, ME; Sister, Linda Conrad Datavs of Richmond, ME; Sister, Shelley Berry of Biddeford, ME; Sister, Elaine Baker of Niagara Falls, NY; Grandson Mason Small of Edgecomb, ME; and many other family, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and countless loving friends.
