Arlis J. Bock was born on April 27, 1928 in Washington, Mo. to Joseph and Gladys (Cowan) Bock and passed away March 23, 2017 at the age of 88 years at the Frene Valley Nursing Home in Owensville, Mo.
Arlis was raised and attended school in High Gate Missouri. On December 26, 1947, he and Eileen Moreland were united in marriage at Cuba, Mo., and to this union three sons were born.
Arlis was a life long member of the United Brotherhood of Teamsters Local 864 and 682, retiring from Jefferson Asphalt where he had driven the distributor truck for over 25 years. He had also been a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 513.
Arlis kept busy after retirement when he owned and operated his own backhoe and dump truck, helping with many volunteer projects in Vichy and the surrounding area.
Arlis also enjoyed raising cattle and working on his farm. You could find him most Wednesdays at the stockyards in Vienna.
Arlis had been baptized earlier in life and had been a long time member of the Vichy Community Church.
Surviving Arlis are his wife: Eileen of the home in Vichy, and their three sons: Larry Douglas (Donna), Gary Dwayne (Susan); Kevin Darrell (Verlee Foust); seven grandchildren: Carrie, Marcie, Trevor, Travis, Lara, Amy and Lesley. Sixteen great-grandchildren: Cole, Cale, Wesley, Mathew, Megan, Jacy, Tayler , Rydge, Selena, Sophie, Peyton, Kyle, Brandon, Issac, Makayla, and Briley; two great-great grandchildren: Lexie and Elaina; three sisters: Kathleen Knichel, Reva Winkle and Frances Happel.
Preceding Arlis in death are his parents; brother: Marlin and two great-grandchildren : Cody Scott Iten and Kelsey Ann Jensen, and Daughter-In-Law: Carol Bock.
