Mr. Pohl was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Westphalia and the Catholic Order of Foresters. He was a Veteran of World War II serving as a Pharmacy Corpsman in the U.S. Navy and a member of the Fowler, Pewamo, Westphalia VFW Post #3733. He had a love for flying airplanes and woodworking and was also a lifetime member of the Western Michigan Harley Club. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lorraine Elizabeth Pohl; brother, Robert Pohl. Surviving are his wife, Ellen Pohl of Grand Ledge; children, Linda (Chuck) Griffin of Clarksville, David (Ann) Pohl of Bloomfield Hills, MI, Susan (Mark) Melendy of Beverly Hills, MI, Theresa (Harold) Sattazahn of Mason, Steven Pohl of Grand Ledge, and James (Lori) Pohl of Kalamazoo; 10 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; brother, Elvan (Mary Ellen) Pohl of Westphalia; sister, Jeanette Beachnau of Westphalia; brothers and sisters-in-law, Marie Pohl of Westphalia, Wilma (Francis) Trierweiler of Westphalia, Marie Harvey of Haslett, Marie Cook of Portland, Margie Gregg of Florida, Joan (Carl) Huhn of Dewitt, and Blanche Cook of Lyons; several nieces and nephews.
