He was a Christian and a member of the Cherryville First Baptist Church.
He served his country in World War II as a member of the Army Infantry with duty overseas in the European Theatre. He received the Victory and M1 Sharpshooter Medals. He was honorably discharged in 1946.
He was survived by his wife and companion of 57 years, Shirley of Salem; his son, Charles Anthony and wife Laura West of Farmington, MO, his daughter Susan Marie and husband Kevin Bolin of St. Clair, MO, his daughter April Christine and husband Larry Green of St.
