Annis Webster Crocker, 94, of Nobleboro, formerly of Monmouth, passed away on Monday morning, April 25, 2016 at her home. She was born June 28, 1921 in Sheffield, Yorkshire, England, a daughter of the late Thomas E. and Annis (Hancock) Webster. During the war, at the age of eighteen, she worked in an aircraft factory in Wellingborough, England at which time she met an American by the name of Ruel Crocker, whom she dated for a year and then got engaged. They were married on December 16, 1944. Mrs. Crocker arrived in the United States on April 4, 1946 in New York, after a six day voyage on the Queen Mary. She and her husband arrived in Monmouth, Maine the next day, and made their home there until 1984, when they retired to Springhill, Florida. In Monmouth she was active in the Girl Scouts, The Golden Years, and was a founding member of the Monmouth Mothers Club. She was an active member in the United Church of Monmouth where she sang in the choir and taught Sunday School. She loved to sing and dance. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ruel Crocker who died on June 4, 2004; and her five brothers, Ted, Leslie, Jack, Harry and Kenneth. Mrs. Crocker is survived by her four sons, Thomas Crocker and his companion Lorette of Monmouth; Anthony Crocker and his wife Mel of Monmouth; Terence Crocker and his companion Sherri of Nobleboro; and Timothy Crocker and his companion Janice of Winthrop. A special friend, whom she loved as a daughter, Patricia Amero and her husband Richard of Monmouth. A brother, Frederick Webster and his wife June of England; as well as several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
