Fisker, Anne Pedersen Age 103 years, passed away peacefully on September 19, 2013. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul and children, Alice Fisker Waldon and John Fisker. Survived by her youngest brother, Richard Pedersen of Sioux Falls, SD; her daughter-in-law, Dorothy Fisker; 7 grandchildren, Jeff Fisker, Paul Waldon, Leora Norstrom, Pete Waldon, Gus Fisker, Sarah Waldon-Friederichs, and Joel Waldon; 12 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Anne was born October 28, 1909 in Denmark. She immigrated to the United States with her parents when she was 6 months old. Anne grew up in Eagan, SD. She married her husband Paul in 1930 and moved to Minneapolis where she raised her children and became a home economics teacher for the St. Paul School District. Anne had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed sharing time with other people. When she was asked at her 100th birthday party what she thought was the greatest invention during her lifetime, she didn’t hesitate a moment to remark, “It was definitely the invention of deodorant. When you grow up on a farm, you can’t imagine the smell of the people after they worked on the farm.” We are very grateful to the caregivers at Meridian Manor in Wayzata, the Hospice caregivers from North Memorial, and the wonderful friends from Joyful Companions. All of their loving care helped Anne enjoy her later years.
