On Sunday, July 16th, Anna passed away at her home in Boyds, Md. Her husband of 58 years, Norman, and a Hospice nurse were in attendance when she took her, final breath. She was successfully treated for MDS, a precursor to Leukemia, for many years. In May she was stricken with acute Leukemia and she succumbed within two months.
Anna was born to Gladys Mary Jenrette and Michael Stelock on April 11, 1936, in Washington, DC. She attended Noyes Elementary School, Langley Junior High School, and McKinley Technical High School.
In high school Anna took voice training and was the member of several choral groups. She met Norman when they were assigned to the same English and History class at Tech in the Fall of 1953. That year Anna moved to 10th and Gallatin Streets, NE, and she and Norman began to ride the same bus home after school. The romance began to develop while they waited together for the bus at V Street and Rhode Island Avenue.
After attending George Washington University for two years, Anna worked as an insurance underwriter for GEICO. Anna and Norman were married on July 11, 1959, in the Calvary Baptist Church by Dr. Clarence Cranford. After raising three children she worked as a Reservation Clerk at the Little Bennett Campground in Clarksburg, MD.
She is survived by her husband and their children, Mary Lucretia Mease and William Edward Mease. Their oldest child, Michael Ernest Mease, is deceased. Survivors also include two wonderful granddaughters, Rachel Marie Ziegler and Olivia Rose Ziegler, their father, Jonathan O. Ziegler and many inlaws, cousins and nieces and nephews.
