Anna D. Jones of Denton, MD, died Thursday, September 15, 2016, at the Caroline Nursing Home in Denton. She was 87 years old. Born in Oil City near Denton on April 8, 1929, Mrs. Jones was the daughter of the late Robert Moore Brubaker and Marguerite Anise Wyatt Brubaker. Her husband, William “Bill” Robert Jones died May 23, 2010. Mrs. Jones had lived near Denton all of her life. She had graduated from Caroline High School in Denton and had worked for E.I. DuPont in Seaford, DE for 32 years before retiring. For many years, she worked tirelessly with the VFW Memorial Post 7937 Auxiliary. She was a member of the Denton Church of the Brethren. Mrs. Jones is survived by two sons: Lee DeFord of Washington, D.C. and Harry R. Jones and his wife Patty of Denton; four grandchildren: Mark Jones, Matthew Jones, Jeremy Jones, and Andrew Jones; nine great grandchildren: Abigail, Kaylyn, Olivia, Aiden, Kenley, Kate, Macy, Anna, and Riley. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, W. Robert Brubaker; and two sisters, Stella Mae Cannon and Marie B. Spence.
