Ann G. Kangas, age 93, a lifelong resident of Hibbing, died Thursday, March 21, 2013 at Fairview University Medical Center – Mesabi in Hibbing. She was born November 25, 1919 in Hibbing, the daughter of George and Sophie (Basta) Glumac. She graduated in 1938 from Hibbing High School and married John E. Kangas on January 20, 1945 in Mt. Iron, MN.
Ann was a Supervisor of the housekeeping department at the Kahler Hotel in Hibbing until her retirement in 1983. She was a member of St. Basil Serbian Orthodox Church in Chisholm and Hibbing Senior Center on 12th Avenue.
She is survived by her son: Randy (Joan) Kangas of Richmond, VA; and her brother: Richard (Jean) Glumac of Sun City West, AZ.
Ann was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: John in 1995; brothers: Dan, George, Mike, Emil and Louis; and sisters: Mary and Violet.
