Portland – Ann E. (Fernandez) Farstad, 76, of Portland, passed away on July 24, 2013. She was born on August 19, 1936, the daughter of Caitano and Marie Dorthea (Gomes) Fernandez. She grew up in Portland, graduating from Cathedral High School in 1954. In 1966, Ann married Robert W. Farstad. They raised their daughter, Julie, and were married for 35 years before his passing in 2001. Ann was very athletic and enjoyed bowling, games and was an avid fan of all New England Sports teams.
In addition to her husband, Ann was predeceased by her parents. She is survived by her daughter Julie McGowan and her husband, Matt and her sisters Margaret Rose and Marie Pomerleau and her husband, Louis, Jr. She is also survived by her niece and goddaughter, Richielle Rose and her partner Jerry Blanchard, her niece Monique Brown and her husband Alex and their daughter Elizabeth, her nephew Eric Rose and his children Cheyenne, Ciara and Dio, her niece Thyiace Rose, her nephew Louis Pomerleau, III and his wife Nina and her nephew Jeffrey Gomes and his wife Karen.
