With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Alyssa Carol Nevala on Monday, January 2, 2023. Alyssa was born on January 17, 1982, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Duluth, Minnesota weighing 2 pounds 3 ounces. Her strong will for life was evident from the very beginning.
She attended Virginia High School, graduating in 2001. Her love and expertise for computers and technology led her to a career in customer service as a representative for multiple online companies throughout her life. In 2003 she met Nathan Quist and together they had 3 children: Alex Roy (16), Isaiah Nathan (15) and Makenzie Elizabeth (13). Son Zachary James (11) was born in 2011, to father James Dunn. Alyssa’s greatest love, pride, joy and life’s purpose were her children. They were her entire world and inspiration. She loved her children deeply and completely. As a person who used a wheelchair, she had great compassion and understanding for those with disabilities and taught so many people how to overcome adversity.
Alyssa was preceded in death by her grandparents Ilmer and Helen Seppi and Roy and Alice Nevala.
She will be sadly missed by her parents Bruce and Carol Nevala; siblings Aaron (Bridgette) Nevala and Adam (Tina) Nevala; nieces and nephews Nick, Jacob, Keira, Nolan, and Jackson; aunts and uncles Don (Ruth Ann) Nevala, Jim (Donna) Seppi, Barbara Jacobson, Glenn Jacobson, Donna Seppi, and Scott Asbach; partner Keith Gould; along with many loving cousins.
