Age 65, loving son, brother and uncle passed away on Friday, January 6, 2017. He was born March 20, 1951 in St. Johns, the son of Robert and Kathleen (Hanses) Barker.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Jim Hengesbach.
Surviving are his 3 sisters, Shirley Linn of Grand Ledge, Patti Hengesbach of Westphalia, Lori (Mike) Wieber of Portland; 10 nieces and nephews, Rob (Kari), Tara (Jarrod), Cole, Haley (Brad), Hanna (Grant), Scott (Katie), Heather (Dennis), Holly, Amber, and Amy; great niece and nephews Jude, Lena, Micah and Oliver; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Allan had an unconditional love for all he knew and he dearly loved his Hanses aunts, uncles and cousins. He attended Orchard School in St. Johns, Woodhaven and Beekman Center in Lansing. He had a love for the Detroit Tigers and the American Flag. He was a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters. Allan lived with his parents until 1988 when he moved to Edmore to live at the Kilchermann AFC where he was taken care of and loved by Tad and Bonnie Kilchermann and caregivers T.D., Lorie, Ashley, and Cheyann. Dr. Will Gaffney also provided exceptional medical care to Allan.
