Alfred F. Eggert, 84, of Berger, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at Hermann Area District Hospital, Hermann, Missouri.
Mr. Eggert was born in Leslie, Missouri on February 21, 1926, the son of the late August and Bertha (Kassabaum) Eggert.
He was the husband of Lorene (Meyer) Eggert. They were married October 5, 1946 at St. John U.C.C., Berger, MO, she survives in Berger.
Alfred is also survived by his daughter Janeial Hemeyer of Berger, two grandchildren Craig Hemeyer & wife Kris and Julie Schowe & husband Brent, four great-grandchildren Carter & Kampbell Hemeyer & Katie & Nicholas Schowe, a sister Mildred Althage of New Haven and a brother Clarence Eggert of Washington.
He is preceded in death by his parents, by brothers Homer, Edwin, Walter and Harry Eggert and sisters Alice & Nora Schneider.
He was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, Berger, Missouri, the American Legion Post 168, the Berger Volunteer Fire Department and Hermann V.F.W. Post 4182.
He worked for the Langenberg Hat Factory at Berger where he was foreman and he proudly served in the U.S. Navy during WWII.
