Alex “Walter” Nordling passed away on Monday, May 31, 2004 at the Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND at the age of 77.

Alex Walter Nordling was born on October 26, 1926 at Lake Bronson, MN, the son of John and Alice (Carlson) Nordling. He moved with his family to the Alvarado, MN area as a young boy where he attended school. Alex served in the US Marines during World War II where he was stationed in Hawaii. After his discharge, he returned to Alvarado where he was a building contractor. For the last several years, he has made his home in Warren, MN.

He was a former member of the Alvarado American Legion and a present member of the Warren American Legion.

He was an active member of the Alvarado community.

Left to mourn his passing are three sisters and one brother; Helen Kitti of Des Moines, IA, Myrtle (Bob) Dahlstrom of Oslo, MN, Jeannie (Bob) Anderson of Warren, MN and Lloyd (Betty) Nordling of Park Rapids, MN, sister-in-law, Joyce McCabe of Grand Forks, ND and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Pearl Svard and Doris Lundeen and three brothers, Melvin, George and Rolland.
