Albert Hugh “Sonny” Miller was born on July 8, 1934 in Coffman, Missouri, eldest son of Albert Benedict (Buddy) Miller and Stella Blanche Bloom.  He is preceded in death by an infant daughter, Christy Kay, his beloved Grandmother (“Mom”) Etta Bloom, his parents, two brothers, Sidney Francis Miller and Raymond Nicholas Boyd, and a sister Marilyn Kay Whitworth.

He is survived by his wife and love of his life Betty Jane (Harter), they were married for 65 years.  Four children, Doris Jane (Mark), Carl Albert (Connie), Carol Lynn, and John Randall (Jayne), sister, Shelba Broccard, 15 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild to arrive soon, many nieces and nephews, and a host of life long friends.

Sonny lived a productive life.  He was a deacon in three Baptist churches, and Brotherhood President at Pine Log Baptist Church, and also Sunday School President at Pine Log.  Sonny served on the School Board of Education for Wentzville R-IV School District from 1973-1977.  Albert was an active Mason for 60+ years, he was also active in the Scottish and York Rites.

While his kids were growing up the family spent many summer evenings at the Dardenne ball park as all four Miller kids played ball.  Sonny managed, coached, and shaped a lot of young lives over the years, earning much respect.  We all learned not to throw a bat after we hit a ball, because if we did, we had to come back to home plate and lay the bat down ten times repeating, “I will not throw the bat.”
