Albert Ellis Davis, Jr., of Madison, Mississippi, died peacefully on Tuesday morning October 18, 2016, in Jackson at University of Mississippi Medical Center. The son of Albert Ellis Davis, Sr., and Dorothy Anne Smith Davis, he was born on August 26, 1938, attended public schools in Laurel and Jackson, graduated with honors from Millsaps College, and enjoyed a 35-year career with The Coca-Cola Company. He cherished his family and loved to share life experiences of world travels for business and pleasure through his wonderful talent for photography.

While the highlights of Albert’s career are too numerous to list, among them were his role as Director of Marketing in Tokyo, Japan, Vice President of Marketing for the Coca-Cola Company, and leadership roles in the development of The First World of Coke in Atlanta, the Martin Luther King Center in Atlanta, the Torch Run of the Barcelona Olympics in 1992, and the Everything Coke exhibits in Las Vegas and New York City.

Subsequent to his retirement from Coca-Cola in Atlanta in 1996 and his return to Jackson, Albert continued his personal involvement in civic, social, and community activities including his alma mater, Millsaps, Briarwood Presbyterian Church, his St. Catherine’s community and particularly, the Jackson Symphony. Often combining his love of music and photography, he would serve as a virtual tour guide for numerous friends and family as he put to music the photos of his and Lisa’s travels across six continents.

Albert is survived by his loving wife of 19 years, Lisa Williams Davis, his two daughters Caren Lynne Davis and Cynthia Christine Holliday; Lisa’s two sons, Bob Hall (Dianne) and Chris Hall (Kathy); his brother Lucian Davis (Patty), and sister Sara Davis Merryman (Andy); seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; his aunt, Sophia Van Arsdell, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Words cannot express the love and devotion of Albert to each of these family members and of each of them to him.
