Obituary
Allan “Al” Meier passed away on July 5, 2018 at the age of 81. He is survived by his wife Vicki Meier; children, Beth Meier and her husband Jack Kirkland of Raleigh, NC, Tom (Judi) of Warrenton, MO, Sue (Mike) Deckert of Rock Hill, SC; sister, Marlene Harbaugh; grandchildren, Addie and Jack Kirkland and Emily Meier. He is preceded in death by his father, Herman Meier, mother, Helen Meier nee Waldorf and sister Helen Farnin. Al was an avid antique car collector and especially loved his 47′ Ford convertible. He was an involved father and grandfather. He was a loving husband to his wife Vicki for 56 years. Al was also a dog lover and over the years had rescued many precious animals including Lucy, a rescue from PALS, who spent time comforting Al in his final months. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Al donated his body to science as a final altruistic gift.
