Adeloyde Johnson passed away on Tuesday, November 4, 2003 at Valley Eldercare in Grand Forks, North Dakota at the age of 82.

Adeloyde Velora Larson was born on March 11, 1921 in Alvarado, Minnesota to Hans T. and Cora (Sather) Larson. She had one sister, Junieve and one brother, Myers. Adeloyde attended St. Olaf College and was a graduate of Miss. Woods School. She taught elementary school in rural Minnesota. On February 2, 1944, she was united in marriage to Carl Edward Johnson in Minneapolis, Minnesota while Carl was on leave from the US Army. They made their home in Oslo, Minnesota. Adeloyde started as a post office clerk in 1950 at the Oslo Post Office and became Postmaster in 1982, a position she held until she retired. Carl died on June 10, 2000.

She was an active member of the Zion Lutheran Church of Oslo and the Lutheran ladies group.

Adeloyde was an avid quilter, gardener and historian. She always kept busy with her many hobbies.

Left to mourn her passing are her two sons; Jay H. (Barbara) Johnson and Van L. (Maureen) Johnson, all of Kemmerer, WY, five grandchildren, Christine, Jeremiah, Kelly, Jennifer and Brenna, one great-grandson, Jay Aidan Jones and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Carl, brother, Myers and sister, Junieve.
