Obie Oliver Bryant of Sheridan, Arkansas was born November 26, 1933, in England, Arkansas, the son of the late Obie G. and Mary Savannah Martin Bryant. Mr. Bryant died Thursday, December 28, 2017 at Saline Memorial Hospice House in Bryant at the age of 84.
He had served in the US Army from 1950-1956, having fought in the Korean War. He was a Master Optician, founder of the Fourche Dam Optimist Club, president of Smith Taylor Hunting Club for over 35 years, and umpired and coached many baseball games.
He was a member of Hope Pentecostal Church in Sheridan where he had served as youth director, and was a board member for over 30 years. He attended New Life Church in Sheridan. He was a proud Boy Scout leader having had 2 boys that became Eagle Scouts and 1 becoming a minister. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of over 56 years, Louise Williams, a granddaughter, Rebecca Clement, brother, Henry Bryant and a sister, Hattie Marie Bryant.
Survivors: Son, Steve and wife Sharon Bryant of Sheridan; daughters, Gina and husband Tim Clement of Sheridan, Angie and husband Randy Frisby of Grapevine; sister, Betty and husband Jim Atkinson of Dardanelle; grandchildren, Josh Bryant, Micah (Jessica) House, Aaron (Rikki) Henson, Rachel (Craig) Umholtz, Raven Rodgers and 2 step grandchildren; great grandchildren, Rayleigh Umholtz, Corbyn Umholtz, Eli Henson and 8 step great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to his nurses aids, Ashley Watkins, Mary Keeth, Debra Park and Doris Hawkins as well as Saline Memorial Hospice House in Bryant for the love and care that was shown to him and his family.
