Norman “Skeeter” Wright Adlington, Jr, 71 of Knottsville Community, Grafton, passed away Sunday, June 5, 2016 with his family by his side. He was born July 22, 1944, in Alexandria, VA, son of the late Norman W Adlington, Sr, and he is survived by his mother, Velma G. Rogers Adlington, Grafton. His loving wife, Linda Lake Adlington survives of Grafton; they were united in marriage, January 13, 1966.
Norman graduated from Grafton High School Class of 1962. He graduated from WVU where he earned his bachelors and went on to receive his master’s degree in Music Education. He was band director for 33 years with most of his time being at Grafton High School. He helped other band directors with their programs for their bands thru the years. He taught music at Bandland in Clarksburg, he was a member of the Bands Master Music Educator Association. He loved cutting grass, gardening, going to the lake, playing golf and WVU Football. The joy of his life was his grandchildren, spending time with them and teaching them music. He was a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, formerly was a member of the St. Johns United Methodist Church.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by three children, Rodney Adlington and wife Allison, Bridgeport, Tracy Adlington and Sue Koval, Canton, MI, Jarod Adlington, Huntington; two grandchildren, Jada Lynn Adlington, and Paislee Lynn Adlington; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Pam Bennett and husband Roger, and nephew, Ryan Bennett and wife Christy, both of Grafton.
