Norman Francis Sampson, 82, of Fall Creek, WI, formerly of Fairfield, PA, passed away on Saturday, February 5, 2022, at his home. Born February 28, 1939, in Hyattsville, MD, he was the son of the late Arthur Clarence “Buck” Sampson and the late Bessie (Chapin) Sampson. He was the husband of the late Patricia Ann (Nicely) Sampson.
Norman was a Steel Erection Iron Worker, Welder, and Job Superintendent over the years. He worked in the family businesses, Sampson Associates, Sampson Erectors, and Sampson Iron Works in MD/VA, then owned and operated The Mustard Seed and Silverback Erectors, both in Thurmont, MD. He then became a Job Superintendent for S.A. Halac Ironworks in Sterling, VA, worked with 7th Heaven Alpaca breeding and sales, and was a Regional Manager with A.L. Williams Primerica. Norman was a proud veteran of the United States Army.
Surviving are his daughter, Jeanne Sampson of Fall Creek, WI; step-children, Cynthia Rice and husband David of Ponte Verda Beach, FL, Candy Bowers and husband Stephen of Woodsboro, MD, Caythee Ruby of Rocky Ridge, MD, Rodney Jones of Solomons Island, Cady Meier and husband Reid of Huntsville, AL, Catricia Lankford of Waynesboro, PA; siblings, Bruce Sampson (Belle), Kenny Sampson, Morris Sampson (Thelma), Jesse Sampson (Joan), Jimmy Sampson, Linda Swisher, Marylou May, and Janice Linkins; 16 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Norman was predeceased by daughters, Karen Garner, and Darlene Sampson; step-son, Michael Jones; special granddaughter, Rebecka Ridenour; sisters, Nancy Snyder, Dorothy Jennings and her late husband Larry, Peggy Phillips and her late husband Phil, and Inez McGuigan and her late husband Mac; brother, Clarence Sampson; sister-in-law, Dottie Sampson; and brothers-in-law, Jack Swisher and Jose May.
