Norman Sashington, a native of the Frankville community and a resident of the Bladon Springs community, better known to family and friends as “N.L.,” made his earthly transition on July 1, 2022 while at Rush Hospital in Meridian, Miss. Norman was born Sept. 10, 1957 to Mattie Dixon Sashington and Mallie Malachi Sashington. Earlier in life he joined the Mt. Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Frankville, later moving his membership to Goodwill Baptist Church in Bladon Springs.

Norman was united in Holy Matrimony to Carolyn May Sashington for 40 years. To this union they were blessed with two children. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing his guitar and enjoyed spending time with his family. He worked with Mid-Star Logging until he retired.

Preceding him in death was his father, Mallie Malachi Sashington; two sisters, Carrie Sashington and Lucille Sashington; and three brothers, Nathan Sashinger, David Sashington and Ulysese Sashington. 

Norman leaves to cherish his memories his devoted wife, Carolyn Sashington of Bladon Spring; his devoted mother, Mattie Sashington of Bigbee; one daughter  Falicia (Deloid) Boykin of Chatom and  one son Norman Jr. (Celia) May of Ft. Collins, Colo.; three brothers, Marvin (Ann) Sasington of Bigbee, Marzet Sashington of Coffeeville and Earnest (Roberta) Sashington of Bladon Springs; four sisters, Ethal Robinson of Pensacola, Fla., Ada Herring of Baldon Springs, Martha (Wayne) Franks and Etta Sashington, both of Bigbee; six grandchildren, Jakaya Johnson, De Marco Johnson and Serenity Boykin, all of Chatom, Arianna May, Jaden May and Mal May, all of Ft. Collins, Colo.; mother-in-law, Emma May of Bladon Springs; five sisters-in-law, four brothers-in-law and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
