Norman Kluttz Holshouser, 92, passed away on September 2, 2021 at the Novant Health Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House.
Born on September 14, 1928 to the late Virgil Elbert Augustus Holshouser and Beulah Maye Kluttz Holshouser.
Norman was a 1945 graduate of Granite Quarry High School. After school he worked in Washington, DC for the FBI before returning to Salisbury and working for Duke Power Company for 40 years.
Norman was a lifelong member of Union Lutheran Church where he served on the church council, Sunday school teacher, Sunday school superintendent, and other committees.
He enjoyed gardening and working in the yard, going to the beach and camping with friends, the Atlanta Braves, and UNC basketball.
In addition to Norman’s parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters Rebecca “Susie” Maye and Sylvia Fraley.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Sarah Kluttz Holshouser; daughter, Terri Holshouser Murphey (James) of High Point; sons, David Holshouser and Jeffrey Holshouser (Dawn). Norman is also survived by granddaughter, Kristin Holshouser DeWolf (Jeremy); grandsons, Travis (Meredith) and Maddux Holshouser, Joshua Tysinger (Casey) of High Point; great-grandchildren, Hadley and Caiden Tysinger of High Point, Lottie Stevens of High Point and Deckard Norman DeWolf; step grandchildren, Monica Stevens and Robert Murphey of High Point. Also surviving are his brothers, Augustus “Gus” Holshouser of Durham and Jimmy Holshouser of Lexington; sister, Sandra Holshouser of Williamsburg, VA; brother-in-law, Glenn Kluttz (Margaret) of Prosperity, SC; sister-in-law, Doris Kluttz of Salisbury and special cousin, Jean Ray.
