Today we mourn and celebrate the life of our own beloved: son, brother, father, cousin, soulmate and crony/homey NORMAN JASON “FACE – LO” LEITO, JR. He was born into a loving family, The Leitos; Ms. Betty and Tiny and his adoring sisters, Lynn and Gina on October 26, 1975 at St. Johns Hospital in Brooklyn, NY. He gurgled and cooed in the delivery room; he always had a lot to say.
He died on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 in Danbury Hospital, Danbury, Connecticut due to complications from a leg broken in two places.
We all loved you Jason and we miss you so much!
Jason was always industrious. His hustle mentality started early in his life. Remember? At 8 years old he packed bags and delivered groceries from the corner supermarket. With his first week’s earnings, he treated his parents out to dinner. Pizza Hut! As his next endeavor, he learned the floral business at The Flowerworks florist. But, he always wanted to be a DJ. He scratched up all the records in the house as he was honing and perfecting his skills from an early age. He ultimately became the legendary DJ Face-Lo. Known and loved by everyone he encountered. Following in the footsteps of his father he also attended a welding course at a Technical school. After moving out of Brooklyn he took on another occupation, opening and operating a pet grooming business: Woof ‘n Wash. He always loved animals. His clients at the Woof ‘n Wash – both two-legged and four-legged, genuinely appreciated having him at their “bark and call”. He ran the business from his bedside the last two weeks before his death.
Jason was preceded in death by his father Norman “Tiny” Leito and his sister Michelle “Mickey” Leito.
The family will have to learn to live without everybody’s favorite person. We all loved you and you are dearly missed.
