Norman H. Hopper, 70, of Elkhart, was found passed away at his home Thursday, April 13, 2017, following an extended illness.

He was born, in Elkhart, Dec. 27, 1946, to the late Salem and Marie Hopper.

Surviving are sons Jason Hopper of Goshen and Christopher (Melissa) Hopper of Holland, Michigan; sisters Sally Ollis of Florida City, Florida, Bonnie Bennett of Moline, Illinois and Adeline Criqui of Jones, Michigan; and grandchildren Kristina and Nathan Hopper, Seth Hook and Parker Simpkins.

He was preceded by siblings Richard, Joann and Norma Hopper.

Norman worked in shipping and receiving at Whitehall Laboratories and Patrick industries of Elkhart for many years.

He loved spending time with his friends, playing cards and trading jokes which fueled his natural sense of humor. He was also an avid reader and classic rock aficionado.

He honorably served in the U.S. Army in Germany during the Vietnam War.
