Entered the gates of heaven Monday, November 13, 2017, while at Borgess Hospital. Norm was born March 9, 1931, in Grand Rapids, MI to Lawrence and Frances (Willard) Benedict.
He was the loving husband of Alice Lavern (Rine) Benedict for the last 61 years. Norm is survived by his wife Alice and their children Karen (Matt) Wagner, Pam (Jack) Ryan, Laurie (Rusty) Bishop, and Lawrence (Teri) Benedict; Grandchildren Josh (Karen) MacGregor, Ben (Jessica) MacGregor, Levi & Micaela Wagner, Nicholas (Erin) Palmer, Matthew (Stacy) Palmer, Dustin & Samantha Ryan, Donovan & Allyson Bishop, Brian Orr & Linzy Benedict; Great-grandchildren Jacob MacGregor, Kaylen MacGregor, Isabella MacGregor, Mackenzie Palmer, Maddlyn Palmer, Zakery Palmer, Brayden Palmer, Jaxson Palmer; and a brother, David (Sherry) Benedict.
He was preceded in death by is parents; and a brother, Willard in 2001.
Norman was a private first class serving in the United States Military from 1951 to 1955. After he left the Military, he worked at General Motors and retired after working 35 years. Norman continued following his faith, he was a member of the Northeastern Baptist Church where he and his wife served the Lord as contributing members.
