Norman E. Swift, 71, of Franklin, IN, passed away on April 4, 2022 at Otterbein Senior Life in Franklin, IN. Norman, known by his nickname “Stormin’ Norman” by those he loved, was born a son of the late Ora L. and Beulah M. (Carmichael) Swift, on May 31, 1950 in Franklin, IN. While in high school, Norm met the love of his life, Brenda Johnson.
They were sweethearts all through high school and had just recently celebrated 52 wonderful years of marriage. Norm was blessed with four children: Beverly, who was stillborn, Norman Jr., Laura and her husband Daryl, and Karen. In his spare time, Norm loved racing his race cars, which he built himself, at the Speedrome, Brownstown, and Putnamville race tracks. He also enjoyed NASCAR racing, fishing, and spending time with his children and grandchildren at family gatherings.
In addition to his wife and three children, Norm is survived by nine grandchildren: Brittany, Dustin, Ally, Johnny, Samantha, Justin, Whitney, Haley, and Jesse as well as seven great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents and his daughter, he was preceded in death by a grandson Dylan.
