Norman C. McKee, 90, of Manchester, CT, passed away February 1, 2021, beloved husband of Dorothy (Pikula) McKee.  He was born February 13, 1930, son of the late James and Margaret McKee.  He was a lifelong resident of Manchester.  Norman graduated from Manchester High School in 1948 and then graduated from Howell Cheney Tech in 1949. After graduating he worked for Pratt & Whitney Aircraft.  He then worked several years for Universal Design as a design consultant (he was involved in the design for the first space suit for the astronauts). Norman then moved on to work for the Town of Manchester’s Water Department for 21 years before retiring.

He was an avid fan of the UCONN men’s and women’s basketball teams. He also enjoyed going to the UCONN men’s home soccer games. Norman was a season ticket holder for 40 years. He enjoyed any outdoor activity including skiing, fishing and golfing. He had a passion for photography and helped teach digital photography at the Senior Center for several years. Norman was a kind and generous man and loved meeting new people.

Along with his parents, Norman is pre-deceased by his brother, Johnston McKee, and his sister, Lorraine (McKee) Spencer.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy (Pikula) McKee; his daughter Cheryl McKee; and his sons, Christopher McKee, James McKee and Todd McKee.  He leaves four grandsons: Taylor and Graham Lockwood and Evan and Scott McKee.  He also leaves a sister-in-law; Marian Pikula and several nephews and a niece.
