Norman C. Sorensen, 87, of Lafayette, passed away Monday, November 8, 2021, at Mulberry Health and Rehabilitation Center in Mulberry.
He was born August 22, 1934, in Chicago to the late Aage Einar and Josephine (Shaw) Sorensen. He was a graduate of Klondike High School. He was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church for over 60 years. On January 15, 1955, he married his best friend and forever love, Joann R. O’Connor at St. Ann Catholic Church in Lafayette. Norman worked as a Lab Tech at Purdue University for 30 years, retiring in 1998.
He enjoyed yard work and woodworking. Above all else, Norman loved spending time with his family and cherished time with his grandchildren.
Along with his wife Joann, he is survived by his 4 children, Vicky K. Sorensen of West Lafayette, Scott (Connie) Sorensen of Lafayette, Gary Sorensen of Indianapolis, and Larry (Barbara) Sorensen of New Mexico; 9 grandchildren, Scott (Jennifer) Sorensen, Lee Ann (Bryan) Thomas, Kyle (Cassaundra) Sorensen, Anna Sorensen, Laramie Sorensen, Lindsey (Kevin) Sorensen-Joe, Shaun Sorensen, Tyler Sorensen, and Shundiin Sorensen; 12 great-grandchildren, Quinn Thomas, Rorie Thomas, Isabelle Sorensen, Grace Sorensen, Claire Sorensen, Grant Sorensen, Kobe Sorensen, Carter Sorensen, Cohen Sorensen, Annabelle Sorensen, Auggie Begay, and Zoey Lee-Joe
He was preceded in death by his parents, Aage and Josephine; a brother, Harry; and 2 sisters, Inez and Della Marie.
