GRANGEVILLE: Norman “Butch” Foltz, 79 of Grangeville passed away Monday, August 3, 2015 at Syringa General Hospital in Grangeville.

Butch was born February 9, 1936 at Perham, Minnesota, a son of Herbert and Eileen Klahn Foltz.

They moved to Stites when he was a young boy where he atteded school and was part of the first graduating class at Clearwater Valley. He then attended the University of Idaho where he was a member of he Delta Chi Fraternity. He entered the US Army and was stationed in Germany. Following his discharge from the Army he met and married Gail Wolverton in 1960. They moved to Grangeville where he worked for the International Harvester dealership for 18 years. He then worked for the Fenn Highway District before retiring from the City of Grangeville. Gail passed away in 2010.

He was a member of the Grangeville Elks Lodge. He also assisted his wife Gail in helping coach the Grangeville High School Track and Field program for many years.

He loved to snowmobile and enjoyed taking walks around town with his daughter.

He is survived by his daughter, Katrena and her husband Tuck Hauger, of Grangeville, a brother Lee Foltz of Boise, three sisters, Bobbie Bonaminio of Caldwell, ID, Cathy Petersen of Lewiston, ID and Beth Hassler of Arock, OR. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gail, his brothers, Fr. Charles Foltz, Charles Hassler and Bill Hassler.
