Norma Viola Shaffer 87, of Reedsville passed peacefully with family by her side on Saturday March 1, 2014 at Monongalia General Hospital. She was born April 3, 1927 in Mill Creek, WV a daughter of the late Samuel David and Hattie Mae Smith. She was a member of Mill Chapel United Brethren in Christ. Norma worked as a nurse at WVU and assisted in the transition to the new Ruby Memorial and as a private duty nurse. She will be missed by all her Thursday morning coffee league friends at Pineview Lanes. She is survived by two sisters Lelah Nuffer, and Nancy Martin of Reedsville; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Donald Lonnie Shaffer; three infant brothers; and five sisters Naomi Cutwright, Kathleen Brown, Anne Wolinsky, Mary Grace Blake, and Edith Cress Titus.
