Salem Norma R. Swiger Zirkle, 80, formerly of Rush Run, Marshville Community, died Monday, April 12, 2010 at a hospice facility near Somerset, PA . She was born in Wilsonburg, WV on March 11, 1930, a daughter of the late Lester O. and Nora Emerson Swiger.. She graduated from Victory High School and on May 7, 1949, married Wilbert O. Zirkle who preceded her in death in 2003. They were blessed with three children, Kathy Collins and husband Jeff of FairmontWV, Kitty Kleczek and husband Paul of Cairnbrook, PA, and Nathan Zirkle of Hundred, WV.; six grandchildren, Colleen Rivera (husband Adam), Joseph Collins, Ginger Cohen (husband Adam), Leah Bombardiere(husband Frank), Sean Collins(wife Christy), and Thomas Kleczek; a step grandson, Jordan Earley and eight great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Elaine Pulz in California, Phyllis Lantz of Dayton, OH; two step sisters, Diana Swiger and Linda Harbert of Lumberport, WV. Preceding her in death was a son Wilbert Zirkle, Jr., three sisters, Bernice Snyder, Elinor Waldron, and Marjorie Hitt; and two brothers, Eugene and Lester Swiger. Mrs. Zirkle was baptized years ago at the United Brethern Church and was a devoted homemaker who loved gardening and caring for her family.
