Norma Ruth Boyd, 87, of Meredosia, IL, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2021, at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born May 27, 1934, in Wolf Lake, IL, the daughter of Melvin and Clara Andrews Tweedy. She married James Boyd on July 12, 1953, in Meredosia and he preceded her in death on Apr. 6, 2014.
She is survived by a daughter, Renee Browning (companion Harley McGlasson) of Meredosia; two sons, Steven Boyd of Green River, WY, and Shawn (Susie) Boyd of Jacksonville; three grandchildren, Ashley (Josh) Hull, Hannah Browning (companion Kyle Graham), and Devin (Tiffany) Jackson; six great grandchildren, Bella, Gracie, and Addie Hull, Emma Graham, and Cami and Beni Jackson; and one brother, Bruce (Susan) Tweedy of Jacksonville. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Angela in infancy; three brothers, James, Lawrence “Corky”, and Charles Tweedy.
Mrs. Boyd was a 1952 graduate of Meredosia High School. She worked many years at Farmers and Traders State Bank in Meredosia. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed watching the St. Louis Cardinals, traveling the country, and taking many trips to Branson. Norma especially enjoyed spending time with her family, and will always be remembered for her kindness and laughter. She will be missed by all.
