Norma I. Nofrey, 87 of Centralia, passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2016, at her home. Norma was born March 12, 1929, in Centralia, the daughter of Charles and Faye (Dick) Broadhurst.
She married Wilmer “Bill” Nofrey on January 20, 1951, in Centralia and he preceded her in death on October 10, 2005.
She is survived by five daughters, Sharon Ellis and husband Mike of Centralia, Kathy Nofrey of Centralia, Debbie Opolony and husband Jim of Centralia, Brenda Berger of Centralia, and Lisa Passman and husband Don of Dallas, TX; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Charles Broadhurst of Palm Bay, FL and Robert Broadhurst of Matoon; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother, Harold Broadhurst, and a sister, Dorothy Rogers.
Norma graduated from Centralia High School in 1947. She worked for many years for the Centralia Sentinel and later retired. She was a member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church, V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary, and Women of the Moose.
