Norma Mizar passed away peacefully March 20, 2012 in Scottsdale , Arizona after a long illness. Norma Jean Gossage was born November 13, 1930 in Chicago , Illinois to Floyd and Faye Gossage. During her childhood, Norma was ever so much the tom boy, spending much time during the summers on the family farm near Eddyville, in southern Illinois . Despite her love of the outdoors, Norma was also an excellent student. After high school, Norma met her future husband, William (Bill) Mizar, while both attended college in Chicago . They married August 9, 1952 and were together until her passing. The Mizar family expanded with the births of their son, Robert (Bob) Charles Mizar, and their daughter, Cynthia (Cindy) Faye Mizar, and in 1975 Bill and Norma moved their family from Chicago to Scottsdale . Norma is survived by her loving husband, Bill, children Bob and Cindy, grandchildren Lauren Joy (Mizar) van Gemeren, Kristin Jean Mizar, Gregg Robert Mizar, and great-grandson Rex Joshua Mizar-Kreutzer.
