Norma Jean Trendelman August 13, 1930 – January 20, 2021
Norma Jean Trendelman, 90, of Prairie Creek, Indiana, went home to be with the Lord on January 20, 2021. She was born August 13, 1930, to Louie and Frances Miller.
Jean was primarily a homemaker, but was a notable seamstress for most of her life, crafting beautiful garments for wedding parties, school plays and proms, clothes for her children and grandchildren, and doll clothes, as well as countless alterations for family, friends, and acquaintances.
Jean is preceded in death by the love of her life–her husband of 72 years–Donald Lee Trendelman, whom she married December 24, 1946, as well as by siblings Margaret Ann Miller, Dean Marshall Miller, Vivian Taggart, Kay Dougherty, and Gerald Miller, and grandson Jon Michael Burch.
The couple have five children: Michael Lee Trendelman, Patricia Ann Chidester [George], Mark Allen Trendelman [Sheri], Donna Jean Smith [Dan] and Kimberly Sue Trendelman, in addition to 21 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. Other survivors include siblings Mary Banister, James Miller [Cynthia], John Miller [Brenda], Brenda Roszak [John], Steve Miller [Barb], Peggy Furanna [Dick], and Kevin Miller.
Everyone who knows Jean Trendelman would describe her as a Proverbs 31 woman: “Excellent wife, more precious than jewels. The heart of her husband trusts in her. She does him good and not harm all the days of her life. She works with her hands and provides food for her household. She dresses herself with strength and makes her arms strong. She works with linen, flax and wool, and reaches her hands out to the needy. All her household are clothed by her. She opens her mouth with wisdom and teaches kindness. Her children rise up and call her blessed. Her husband, also, and he praises her. A woman who reveres the Lord is to be praised.” Jean Trendelman was the epitome of Christ-like love and tolerance, and exhibited love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness and faith on a daily basis. She will be sorely missed here on earth, but surely rejoices at the feet of her Redeemer, the Lord Jesus Christ, now and for eternity.
