  • Date Of Birth: April 13, 1941
  • Date Of Death: December 15, 2021

On Wednesday, December 15, 2021, Norma Jean Ledbetter, loving wife and mother, passed away peacefully at the age of 80, surrounded by her loving family.
Norma was born in April of 1941, in New Hope, IL, to William and Donna McBride. In July of 1961, she married Bob Ledbetter. They raised two children, a daughter Valerie, and a son Robert.
Norma’s primary passions were her faith and her family. She devoted herself wholly to serving others. A talented baker and decorator, she made her home a lovely inviting place for her family and friends. Norma was known for her beauty, grace, and kind but fiery spirit.
In 2011, at the age of seventy, she was diagnosed with large B cell lymphoma and underwent multiple grueling courses of toxic chemotherapy. Her fighting spirit and everlasting faith helped her prevail through this often fatal and rare cancer.
An avid political enthusiast, she was never at a loss about the state of affairs of the county, state, and nation. Her fervor is this area was based on her goal to promote solid Christian and traditional family values for her children, and their families.
Norma was preceded in death by her father William, and her mother Donna. She is survived by her husband Bob, her two children Robert (Amy) and Valerie (Jeff), her sisters Dora, Betty, and Yvonne, brother Jim, grandchildren Joseph, Joshua, Sophie, John, Matthew and Mariah, as well as four great-grandchildren.
Although selfishly we all miss her dearly we also know that she is now pain free and reunited with loved ones who have passed.  We know her legacy will live on through the close-knit family she has temporarily left behind, and challenge them to shape the world in such a positive way as she has.
