Norma J. Veld, age 93, passed away October 24, 2020. She was born January 12, 1927, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, the daughter of Jacob and Nellie (Boodt) Legerstee. Norma was a graduate of Central High School and attended Western Michigan University.
She was a lifetime member of First Reformed Church and Second Reformed Church. She worked at Miller Lumber Company for 9 years and 16 years in a dentist office. On March 4, 1950, Norma married her husband of 70 years, Thomas Veld.
She is also survived by her children: Janet (Tim) Osterman and Barbara Veld; her 2 grandchildren, Becky (Tom) Knapik and Jeff Osterman, and two great-grandchildren, Tyler Osterman and Emma Knapik. She was preceded in death by her daughter Sandra Veld, sister and brother-in-law, Donna and Louis Hecker and life partner of daughter Barbara Veld, David Zemlick.
