Norma J. Workman, 77, of Freeport, died Monday October 27, 2008 at her home in Freeport. Born December 29, 1930 in Freeport she was the daughter of Albert and Ruby (Baker) Nickel.

She married John Rohde June 24, 1950 in Freeport and he died in March of 2004. She married Alfred Workman April 2, 2005.

Norma was the 3rd great granddaughter of Tutty Baker, founder of Freeport.She attended Zion Church.

Norma liked to spend time with her family. She loved cooking, baking, and going on outings and picnics with her friends. She enjoyed genealogy and antiques.

Surviving is her husband, Alfred of Freeport; 5 daughters, Victoria (Thomas) Shuey of Gilbert, AZ, Theresa (Robert) Young of Rockford, Catherine (Steve) Chlupsa of Gilbert, AZ, Luanne (Michael) Borowicz of Middleton, WI, and Mary (Keith) Otte of Freeport; 8 granddaughters; 6 grandsons; 4 great granddaughters; 4 great grandsons; 2 step daughters, Diane (Jack) Bullard of Clinton, Iowa and Barbara (Chris) Feucht of Lindenhurst; 3 step sons, Dr. Allen (Debbie) Workman of Freeport, Jerry (Susan) Workman of Kansas City, MO, and David (Bonnie) Workman of Naperville; 10 step grandchildren; 4 step great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, John Rohde, and her brother.
