Norma Fraser “Jo” Dunn, 89, of Ormond Beach, formerly of Palatka, passed from this life on Sunday, November 7, 2021, at Bishop’s Glen Retirement Center following a brief illness. A native of Tavares, Florida, she resided in Ormond Beach for the past 2 years moving from Palatka where she had lived for 64 years. Jo graduated from the University of Florida with her bachelor’s degree in Education.
Jo was a member of the Alpha Omicron Pi (AOII) Sorority and the University of Florida Glee Club. Jo taught at Moseley Elementary School in Palatka for 32 years and was a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society as well as the Retired Teachers Association of Putnam County and received the Rotary Club Teacher award, “Service Above Self”. Jo was a dedicated member of Trinity United Methodist Church for over 50 years and a true follower of her Lord Jesus Christ and loved him with all her heart.
She greatly loved and cared for all her family! Anyone that knew Jo quickly understood her passion for all Florida Gator sports!
She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Sidney H. Dunn, a daughter, Jan Dunn Keller, her parents, Warren and Dorothy Fraser, and sister, Joyce Carpenter.
Jo is survived by 3 sons, Sidney Van Dunn (Shelley) of Oro Valley, AZ, Mark D. Dunn (Tammy) of Ormond Beach and Michael Dunn (Tiffany) of Myrtle Beach, SC, a sister Mary Dibler of Sarasota, 5 grandchildren, Ryan Dunn (Alicia) Kasey Keller, Eric Keller, Noah Dunn, and Cooper Dunn as well as 3 great-grandchildren.
