Our sweet wife, mother and grandmother, Norma Ann Andersen Hofler, passed away peacefully on January 16, 2013 with her loving husband by her side. Norma was born on May 21, 1925 in Howell, UT, to William and Harriet Ann Andersen.
Norma graduated from Bear River High School and married Grant R. Hofler on March 30, 1951 in the Logan LDS Temple. They were blessed with two daughters and one son, who was stillborn. They lived in Logan for a short time and made their home in Ogden, UT for over 60 years.
She was a telephone operator at Mountain Bell. She retired from Mtn. Bell and later retired from IRS.
Norma was an active member in the LDS Church and loved serving in various church callings. She and Grant enjoyed serving as ordinance workers in the Ogden LDS Temple. She also earned her Golden Gleaner award.
Norma was famous for her hand-dipped chocolates. She was an avid Utah Jazz fan and enjoyed watching BYU sports. She was a member of the Mountain Bell Pioneers and Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.
Norma is survived by her husband of 61 years, Grant; her two daughters, LuAnn and Michael Schmucker and Julie and Keith Stoddard all of Layton, UT; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren with two great-granddaughters on the way. She is also survived by her brother, Darwin and Luana Andersen of Rupert, ID and dear friends, Dick and Norene Jardine. She was preceded in death by her parent; infant son; 13 siblings and many close friends.
