Norlin Darrell Newnum Jr., age 57, met his creator on Sunday, July 16th at his Chino Valley home after a long battle with cancer. Norlin was born Nov. 25th 1959 at St. Joseph Hospital in Phoenix, AZ, to Marylou and Norlin Darrell Newnum Sr.
As a child Norlin spent a majority of his time riding his bike all over “the valley of the sun” (Phoenix, AZ) with his three siblings, Gerald, Rene, and Susan. Norlin found his passion for fishing and boating while spending time with his father’s parents camping at Lake Bartlett and other Arizona swimming holes.
In 1989, Norlin found his calling driving semi-trucks, where hew as the king of the road. He received many awards for safe driving and outstanding performance. Norlin worked a total of 28 years in the trucking industry. However, his loyalties did not just lie there; he was also committed to his family. Norlin’s legacy remains with his “smokin hot” wife Sherri and their four children Dustin, Dillon, Shelby, and Nicole Newnum. This loving family began on Jan. 3 1987 when Sherri and Norlin exchanged their vows. Norlin was a devoted husband and father who supported his family in all aspects of their lives. For Sherri it was one of her greatest passions “shopping”. Norlin would always say “if mom wants it, she can have it, as long as we can afford it”. He was truly an amazing individual who will be deeply missed by all of his family and friends.
