Norleen Margaret “Cookie” Fort 78, of Indianapolis, Indiana went to her eternal home on May 1, 2017. She passed peacefully with her family beside her at St. Francis Hospital after suffering a heart attack. She had kidney failure as well, and was determined to avoid dialysis. Cookie was born on September 12, 1938 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Kathleen (Barnes) and Norbert Osborn. Cookie married Robert Fort on August 31, 1957. She and Robert had 5 children: Scott, Sharon (Brewer), Steve, Stan, and Stuart; plus many sons and daughters-in-law that she loved as her own.
She was blessed with 8 grandchildren: Angel (Michael), Sarah (Matt), Aaron (Ashlee), Hillary, Becca (Caleb), Alex, Stephanie (Andrew) and Hailey. She was even more blessed with 8 great- grandchildren: Carter, Landen, Alyssa, Eden, Ava, Ruah, Nolan, Amos; and brother Norbert Osborn. Cookie loved to be surrounded by her family. She wanted everyone to gather together as much as possible. Sunday dinners out were a must, as well as Thursday lunch each and every week. Everyone who knew Cookie had an unforgettable story to share about her. She made an imprint on everyone she talked to and did not know a stranger. We are rich with memories of her.
