Today we celebrate the life and times of our beloved Noreen Wallace. Noreen Oliver Wallace was born on July 5th 1958 in the twin island of Trinidad & Tobago to the late Veronica “Tanty” Nicholls and Percival Wallace.
Noreen was a loving and caring person, not only with her immediate family, but also with her relatives and friends. She had high self-esteem and lots of self-confidence. She would walk around the house in her birthday suit and wasn’t ashamed of her body. Everyone who was close to her would have seen her in her birthday suit. Noreen had a great sense of humor and would make everyone laugh including herself. She lived for her children and grandchildren she never wanted to be apart from them for long periods of time. Noreen was known for her “Sweet hand” and would cook enough food to feed a village. She started cooking at the age of 10 years and would cry to cook her mother would tell her to get out her kitchen. Her mother then gives her the job to cook Sunday lunch for the family.
She loved to bake and would make black cake and her famous sweetbread which was shipped out to her family and friends every holiday. When you open up your package there would be either 6 cakes or 12 sweetbreads and don’t talk about her ice tea with what she said was made with her secret ingredients. Noreen was loved by everyone she came in contact with during her short life on earth; likewise she showed the same love to everyone. Noreen will forever live in our hearts as we who she left behind continue on this journey call life without her in it. We know for sure she gave her life to God and she is with him in Paradise. She will always be a guiding light to all of us.
Noreen is survived by her family.
