Noreen E. (Francolino) Gnazzo, 69, of Plainville, formerly of Southington, passed away on Saturday, April 02, 2011 at Connecticut Hospice in Branford after a courageous battle with cancer.
Noreen was born in New Britain on September 28, 1941, one of three daughters to the late Dominic and Helen (Barrows) Francolino. A longtime resident of Plainville, she graduated in 1960 from Plainville High School. Noreen married her childhood sweetheart, James R. Gnazzo shortly after graduation, sharing ten years together and raising their son Jesse, before his passing in 1975. Noreen moved to Southington for fourteen years, always keeping her Plainville roots close to her heart, and worked at Gnazzo’s in the late 90’s where she could fully express her gift for chatting with others and meeting new friends.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jesse and Leanna Gnazzo of Plainville; her grandson, Benjamin Gnazzo; her sisters and best friends, Beverly Jenislawski and her husband, Ed and Catherine Stuckman and her husband, Tom. She was a loving aunt to her many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews, sharing a special bond with each of them; and will be missed by her dear friends, dining and shopping partners, Barbara Francolino Parent and Joann Bertolo, as well as her cats, Salt and Pepper.
Family and friends may gather on Friday, April 8, 2011 from 5-8 p.m.
