On Friday, April 9, 2021, Ning Wang, loving wife, mother of one daughter, and grandmother of two grandsons, passed away at age 73, after a year long battle against pancreatic cancer.

Ning was born on November 30, 1947 in BaoDing, China to father, Yu Wang and mother, Zeying Liu. She married her best friend since high school, Songhai Li on May 1st, 1976, and together, had one daughter, Jinyue Li. She received her medical degree from Tianjin Medical University and practiced internal medicine in Tianjin, China for decades.

Ning was a compassionate physician and cared for her patients like her own family and was the catalyst for her daughter in becoming a physician as well.  Later, she lead a team committed to the the long term and satisfying project of implementing the first-ever electronic healthcare management system for the City of Tianjin, and played a crucial part in moving the city’s healthcare system into the electronic era.

Ning was dedicated and committed to anything she did and certainly never took no for an answer.  She was inspirational to many of her nieces and nephews who later became professionals themselves.  Ning loved her family but especially loved her grandsons, who referred to her as LaoLao. They loved her cooking.  Ning was also passionate about gardening — her favorite plants being succulents.  And with years of knitting experience, she enjoyed making sweaters and blankets for her family.  After retirement, Ning loved to travel the world with her husband, and dedicated the rest of her time in spoiling her grandchildren.

Ning was preceded in death by her father, Yu Wang and her mother, Zeying Liu.  She is survived by her husband Songhai Li; daughter Jinyue Li; son-in-law, Britt Tucker; grandsons Pierson Tucker and Remington Tucker; sisters Dong Wang and Hong Wang; brothers, Gang Wang, and Jun Wang; and plentitude of nieces and nephews.
