Nina Clifton age 75 of Centralia, IL, was received into Heaven on Monday, November 16, 2015. She was born on November 13, 1940 in Trout, WV, the daughter of Bessie M. (Blake) Davis and Wilburn R. Davis. She married Jerry E. Clifton, Sr. on June 3, 1959 in Centralia, IL.
He preceded her in death on March 22, 2015. She is survived by a son, Jerry Clifton, Jr. and wife Becky of Centralia; a daughter, Kim Brodish and husband Bob of Menomonee Falls, WI; a daughter, Cindy Nelson of Centralia; seven grandchildren, Curtis Clifton, Nicole (Clifton) McCoy and husband Kyle of Centralia, John Brodish of Washington, D.C., Mallory Brodish and Eric Brodish of Menomonee Falls, WI, Blake Miller and Abbi Nelson of Centralia; one great-grandchild, Addison Miller of Centralia;; a brother, Bob Davis and Kathy of Centralia; nephews: Michael Davis and Matt Davis; sisters-in-law: Lois Clifton of Salem, IL, Phyllis Clifton of Centralia, Toby Clifton of Las Vegas, NV; several extended family members and special friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Rosalee Bryan; brothers-in-law: Lee Bryan, Ellis Clifton, Ernie Clifton, Sr., Harley Eagan, Bill Beckmeyer, Ivan McClain, Bob Clifton, Sr.; sisters-in-law: Thelma Eagan, Mary Lou Beckmeyer, Jane McClain; and son-in-law, Mike Nelson. Nina spent her youth in West Virginia and Niagra Falls, NY, before moving to Salem, IL in her teens. Following her marriage to Jerry she lived in Centralia. She was a member of the First General Baptist Church of Centralia. She worked at Fredman Brothers Furniture. House of Décor, Sprehe Buick-Pontiac-GMC, and retired from Dobbs/Mahan Buick-Pontiac-GMC.
